Frisket eats two meals a day. Her meals consist of half a cup of dry food (thus, one cup total per day). The meals are after her walks.
Frisket should have free access to water throughout the day.
It is typical for dogs in a new environment to not necessarily eat the first day or so, so if she doesn’t eat her food initially don’t sweat it, she’ll eat when she really has to. If you get really concerned you can crumble treats in as an incentive.
She has seasonal allergies, so if you notice her licking her paws excessively you can give her 1 Apoquel with her food (as needed once per day max). She’ll eat medicine without issues.
Before going to bed she gets a brushless toothpaste treat.
Frisket typically needs to go out every 3 hours. For this reason we also don’t leave her alone for more than 3 hours. So we typically do something like:
Frisket knows the commands “sit”, “down”, “wait”, “come”, “touch”, “look at me”, and “leave it”, although she is usually reluctant to follow these commands from strangers, but please feel free to work with her if you feel like it! You can give her a treat after she successfully follows a command, or for just behaving well in general. “Touch” is one of the easier ones for her to follow, she will touch an open hand with her nose, and you give her a treat with the other. This is a good way to redirect her attention and guide her where you want.
